Prof. BD de Beer Research and Development was registered in February 2020 out of a need for a structured business environment, to grow and sell Cannabis in a professional and controlled environment. The company was formed to establish a market and add structure to what was previously an industry shrouded in confusion and concern.
Prof. de Beer understood the industry and with his team of lawyers and engineers, built what is now the template for Cannabis farming in South Africa. The company fast became the industry leaders and are pioneering development with a technologically advanced setup rivalled by none.
Prof. BD de Deer Research and Development is a grower of Cannabis however, at its core, is in the business of Research and Development. Cannabis has a multitude of applications in various industries; medicinal applications, clothing and textiles, the motor industry, construction and insulation, food and leisure and sustainable agriculture. Cannabis growing is a bi-product of its core business activities and Research and Development will remain the main area of focus as the industry develops.
History of the Company
Prof. BD de Beer Research and Development was first located in the Free State, South Africa, where the operation fast outgrew the size of the premises.
The company displayed huge potential to expand exponentially due to the demand for Cannabis products and bi-products, leading to its production output increasing two fold within the first six months. This was the foundation of the expansion plan put in place to couple production with market demand.
As South Africa had never before had a template for this type of business, the company business plan was adapted multiple times to accommodate and create what is now the optimum operation for the cultivation of Cannabis and the design and manufacturing of its products and bi-products.
